Lexus LFA Nürburgring Package

Some cars are remembered because they were incredibly fast.

Some are remembered because they were incredibly beautiful.

And then there are cars like the Lexus LFA—cars that became legendary because of the engineering, craftsmanship and sheer ambition that went into creating them.

For August 2026, our Model of the Month is one of the most extreme versions of that Japanese supercar:

• Tomica Limited Vintage NEO – Lexus LFA Nürburgring Package.

And if you know the LFA, you already know this isn't an ordinary Lexus.

The LFA: Lexus Builds a Supercar

The story of the LFA began with a rather ambitious question:

What would happen if Lexus built a supercar without compromising?

The answer arrived in 2009, when Lexus officially presented the production LFA. Production began the following year, with just 500 cars planned for the entire world.

The LFA brought together some seriously advanced engineering for its time.

A specially developed 4.8-liter V10, carbon-fiber-reinforced construction, aluminum components and a highly sophisticated chassis were combined into a car that was designed from the ground up rather than being derived from an existing Lexus model.

Even the production process was unusual. The cars were assembled at a dedicated facility known as the LFA Works, with production limited to roughly one car per day.

That screaming V10 became one of the defining characteristics of the LFA, with Lexus engineers developing an engine capable of revving to 9,000 rpm.

The LFA wasn't simply Lexus making a fast car. It was Lexus making a statement.

Enter the Nürburgring Package

Lexus wasn't finished with the LFA.

The Nürburgring Package was developed for customers who wanted an even more track-focused version of the LFA—one designed with the famous Nürburgring Nordschleife very much in mind.

Only 50 examples were produced from the 500-car LFA production run.

The changes weren't merely cosmetic.

The Nürburgring Package received:

• A larger carbon-fiber front spoiler
• Additional aerodynamic elements and canards
• A fixed rear wing
• Track-focused suspension tuning
• Exclusive wheels
• Dedicated high-grip tires
• Increased engine output
• Faster transmission shift times

Power increased from 552 hp to 562 hp, while gear-shift time was reduced to just 0.15 seconds. The car retained a claimed 0–62 mph time of 3.7 seconds and a 202 mph top speed.

This beast sat 10 mm lower, with the aerodynamic changes designed to increase downforce and sharpen its behavior on track.

And Lexus wasn't just using the Nürburgring name for marketing. They came to the "Green Hell" and proved the car's capabilities there.

In August 2011, professional racer and LFA test driver Akira Iida recorded a 7:14.64 lap of the Nürburgring Nordschleife in a road-legal LFA Nürburgring Package running standard Bridgestone Potenza RE070 tires. At the time, Lexus described it as the fastest lap recorded by a regular production car.

That's where the name really earned its meaning.

The Model: TLV Meets the LFA

And now we get to the reason we're here.

Tomica Limited Vintage NEO has created a completely new tooling for the Lexus LFA, and the result is exactly the kind of release we've come to expect from TLV.

The official TLV release specifically highlights the new tooling, the opening hood and the detailed V10 engine underneath.

And that opening hood is probably the first thing you'll want to play with.

Lift it up and you can see the beautifully reproduced engine compartment, giving the model another layer of realism rather than treating the LFA as simply a beautifully shaped shell.

But the Nürburgring Package deserves special attention.

TLV didn't simply take the standard LFA and add an orange paint job.

The model reproduces the specific aerodynamic equipment that separates the Nürburgring Package from the regular car.

At the front, you get the distinctive canards integrated into the front bumper, immediately giving the model a more aggressive appearance.

And at the rear... That wing.

The enormous fixed rear spoiler is one of the most recognizable features of the Nürburgring Package.

Orange, Aggressive and Absolutely Beautiful

The orange exterior is another big part of the model's personality.

The real Nürburgring Package was offered in a very limited selection of exterior colors, including white, orange, black and matte black.

On the TLV model, the orange body combined with the black aerodynamic elements creates an incredible contrast.

The LFA is already an unusually elegant supercar, with its long nose, low roofline and carefully sculpted body.

The Nürburgring Package changes the attitude.

The larger aero elements and massive rear wing make it look like the elegant Lexus has decided to go racing.

And in 1:64, it works beautifully.

Why This Model Won

There are plenty of reasons why the TLV LFA deserves Model of the Month.

First, there's the real car.

The LFA represents one of the most ambitious projects Lexus ever undertook, with only 500 examples produced.

Then there's the Nürburgring Package.

Only 50 cars received it, making this already rare supercar even more exclusive.

And finally, there's what Tomica Limited Vintage has done with it.

A completely new tooling. An opening hood. A detailed V10 engine.

The specific Nürburgring aerodynamic package. The fixed rear wing. The front canards.

Overall, proportions and presence that make the LFA instantly recognizable.

TLV didn't need to reinvent the LFA.

They simply needed to get the LFA right.

And so, they did.

Model of the Month – August 2026

 

The Lexus LFA Nürburgring Package is one of those cars where the story behind the real vehicle makes the miniature even more interesting.

 

It represents a moment when Lexus decided to enter the world of exotic supercars and do it on its own terms.

Then it took that car to the Nürburgring, developed it further, and created one of the most focused versions of the LFA.
