The third-generation Toyota Soarer, introduced in 1991, was a Japanese luxury coupe developed around smooth performance, advanced technology and long-distance comfort. The JZZ30 version used Toyota's 1JZ-GTE twin-turbocharged inline-six engine, which also became popular in the tuning scene because of its performance potential.
