Elegant proportions, restrained luxury and fine period details define this brown 1978 Toyota Crown, a miniature of one of Japan’s most important executive cars.
Introduced in 1974, the fifth-generation Toyota Crown adopted a four-door pillared-hardtop design influenced by contemporary American styling. Its clean, straight body lines and formal presence made it popular among Japanese business executives and private buyers seeking an upscale domestic car. Following updates in 1976 and 1978, the later models received revised front-end styling, including a more prominent vertical grille. The Super Saloon Extra grade offered a more luxurious interior while retaining the 2.0-liter engine configuration.
