The Camel Trophy turned the Land Rover Defender into an icon of extreme expedition travel, with vehicles facing some of the world's most challenging terrain.

Camel Trophy events combined long-distance off-road driving with demanding environmental conditions, making the Land Rover Defender one of the defining vehicles of the series. The 1998 Tierra del Fuego event took competitors to the southern tip of South America, where mud, water, forests and difficult terrain put both vehicles and crews to the test. This model represents the Italian team entry from that expedition.

Mini GT recreates the Land Rover Defender 110 Camel Trophy Team Italy vehicle from Tierra del Fuego in 1998 at 1:64 scale. The model's expedition decoration gives it a distinctly different character from a standard Defender, making it particularly attractive to collectors of Land Rover, Camel Trophy and historic off-road vehicles. The release is identified as a limited-edition new decoration.
