The Mercedes-Benz CLK GTR was created for the FIA GT Championship and quickly became one of the most dominant GT racers of its era. With its mid-mounted V12, extreme aerodynamics, and purpose-built competition chassis, the CLK GTR was barely recognizable as a road car despite its homologation requirements. The 1997 season saw Mercedes-AMG continue its assault on the championship with these spectacular machines.
