The Porsche 911 Carrera Turbo #22 competed in the 1974 24 Hours of Le Mans, driven by Gijs van Lennep and Herbert Müller. Developed as an experimental racing version of Porsche's new turbocharging technology, the Carrera Turbo demonstrated the enormous potential of forced induction in endurance racing. The duo finished an outstanding second overall, helping pave the way for Porsche's legendary turbocharged dominance that would follow in the decades ahead.
